Pneumatic door interlocking system
Pneu Lock is the cleanroom door interlock system powered only by compressed air. Just by the supply of 6 bar compressed air, connected through a 6 mm flexible tube, the control board will manage pneumatic door status sensors, red/green indicators, door locks, push buttons and audible alarm through an acoustic horn. The traffic light indicators, door lock, and door status sensors are ATEX certified.
Custom hybrid control boards – developed by merging pneumatic and electronic signal in the same system – are also available.
GMP Annex 1 is the EU standard for “The Manufacture of Sterile Medicinal Products”. The manufacture of sterile products is subject to special requirements in order to minimize risks of microbiological, particulate and pyrogen contamination.
According to ISO 14644 standard, cleanrooms are required to be equipped with either a soft or a hard interlocking system. The requirement is challenging especially when it comes to the modernization of existing or modular systems. Many of these are not equipped with interlocks so the system must be added later to comply with the standard.
